To celebrate Pantone’s Color of the Year, Emerald, I’ve made a décor board that reflects the Art Deco references I spoke of in my previous post. With velvet, silk, crystal and rich tapestries, this board is all about how Emerald can feel luxurious.

Tomorrow, I’ll bring you the other side of Emerald: the outdoors. In the meantime, you can get more emerald inspiration on my Pinterest board right here.
Emerald Mood Board: Luxuriously Nostalgic

Each year, Pantone announces a Color of the Year, usually to reflect the collective mood, or zeitgeist, of our time. Each year, Pantone invites color experts from around the world to a secret European location and, after two days of presentations and debate, the color is chosen. This year the color is Emerald, “a color of elegance and beauty that enhances our sense of well-being, balance, and beauty,” the company states. For me, the shade evokes a nostalgic art deco mood, like 1920’s emerald jewelry and the paintings of Tamara de Lempicka.

As you can tell from our Tinsel and Timber mood boards, we are excited about our Alt Summit event tomorrow. The folks over at Joss and Main are throwing a "Clue"-themed party tonight, and we can't wait to show off our color coordinated outfits!
Not only is "Clue" my favorite board game, but it is such a fun theme for a party. It works well for almost any celebration, as most people get their costume wheels turning instantly. If you couldn't make a cameo at Alt Summit SLC this year, why not play along at home with some decor and wardrobe inspiration?

Now that Pantone has crowned emerald as Color of the Year, we’re starting to crave gorgeous green surroundings in a major way. It got us thinking—are spaces typically reserved for other colors getting a little jealous that they can’t enjoy green? We’ve rounded up some inspiration to infuse this hue in some unexpected places in your home.
